Written by Fr. Francis Pompei, ofm, the founder of the Franciscan Mystery Players, "JESUS THE HEALER" is a highly dramatic presentation of the powerful miracles and healing events of Jesus' life. With the overwhelming amount of physical, mental, psychological, and spiritual suffering people endure every day, "JESUS THE HEALER" gives the Mystery Players a chance to act as instruments of healing and provide hope for people. At each presentation there is an opportunity for individual prayers for healing at the end. (Due to the intensity of the subject matter of suffering and death, this play may not be recommended for children.)
"JESUS THE HEALER" calls for no speaking parts. Through special effects, lighting, a moving soundtrack, and reflective meditations, viewers experience Jesus' life and presence as if it were really happening. People are able to get in touch with their goodness, struggles, and their sins. Then in a very unique way the play becomes a prayerful vehicle for God's spirit to forgive, renew, and especially heal.
